Have you ever wanted to have a go at Clay Pigeon Shooting but didn't know where to start? Maybe you do a bit of game shooting and would like to try some clays. Maybe you're not sure if your gun is suitable or that you might make a fool of yourself by not knowing what to do.

If you are planning to take up shooting and don't have a firearms certificate, your local Garda Station may require you to take a shotgun proficiency course. The introductory lesson covers all of the safety aspects of gun handling, both on and off the range, and you'll be breaking some clays. If successful you will be awarded a Certificate of Competency.To get started just send us an email or give us a call.

Even if you don't want to take up shooting seriously an introductory lesson can be great fun. Why not bring a friend and have a little competition between you.....safely of course!

 

Module 1 is also the first module of the Shotgun Skills Course which offers you the opportunity to learn more about shotgun handling, safety and shooting technique. Complete this course and you'll receive a diploma which shows you can handle a shotgun safely and without supervision. At the end of the course, you'll understand the importance of gun fit, know your own eye dominance and know how to shoot using the CPSA Method™ across a variety of targets. You'll also have a solid knowledge of safety issues. On completion you will be awarded the CPSA Academy Shotgun Skills Diploma Your achievement will be recorded in your qualification logbook. If you wish to progress to more advanced training, you can use your logbook to record your achievements with any Academy coach.

If you wish, you can progress to further your skills through the CPSA Academy. Why not take an introductory lesson with a qualified coach and learn the safe way? The courses are modular, designed for beginners and are ideal for individuals, couples or small groups. One to one is the ideal way to learn with no distractions.

This is a taster module lasting up to two hours. It's an uncomplicated and enjoyable way to be introduced to the sport. The module covers shotgun safety, shotgun handling and how to hit a target using the CPSA Method™. On completion, every student receives the CPSA Academy Discover Clay Target Shooting Diploma. And each student has their participation recorded in their own personal Academy Logbook.
